Nothing particularly realistic about this, in fact irl the ml would totally be single and finally develop a frontal lobe in his mid 50s
He was already realising he was pushing people away due to his childhood. Unrealistic would be an accident happening or something crazy and then they realizing they are the luvvvv of their lives and reunite.
I like this. It's cute, sweet and realistic!
