You can read some spoilers if you search Alpha Trauma on novelupdates and read the reviews, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth since this is not what I was expecting and wanted from this story but ofc others may not feel the same

He knew who wooyeon was from the beginning and has been in contact with his mom as well. He’s been giving her info on what wooyeon has been doing and such. He also ghosted wooyeon after wooyeon confessed. He knew wooyeon liked him but continued acting nicely. Tbh I read the novel and everything he did isn’t that bad and i actually quite like their story. From the spoilers people posted it def sounded really bad but with the amount of context the novel gave, there’s def more complexity to it. Dohyun (forgot his name ngl) knew wooyeon’s mom first. He caught her attention in an orphanage bc he was a lot more competent than his peers and I think she was the one that introduced him to his adoptive parents. She was his sponsor kinda? Later, after not being in contact for a while, she contacted him again asking him for help by tutoring wooyeon. Specifically, she said she wanted his help to connect with wooyeon by listening to him and such but she’s weird and emotionally stunted and suggested him to help by tutoring wooyeon. While tutoring wooyeon, he noticed wooyeon liked him and bc of that he felt guilty but continued acting kindly bc he “really enjoyed being liked by him” quoting bc thats what he said from novel translations but def sounds like an ass. And then he left for the army after wooyeon confessed bc that was him running away from the consequences of his actions and wooyeon was just a baby (16). The real issue here was that he took fucking forever to tell wooyeon that he was in contact/had a connection to the mom. Wooyeon never really had friends that he made genuinely. His friend danny from the states reached out to him first due to his mom, but wooyeon knows and they’re still good friends regardless. He was upset at dohyun bc he wasn’t honest from the start and he found out dohyun was in contact with his mom from his mom who he has a really bad relationship with. Also he stayed in contact with wooyeon’s mom bc she was worried about him and i think he only gave short life updates like he’s doing fine etc. oh yeah another reason wooyeon was so mad (for good reason) is bc up until that point, stay started dating already but wooyeon still basically knew nothing about dohuyn and he was still idolized as his teacher from the last and kind sunbae. So there were a lot of secrets that were long overdue to be told, was in contact with his mom since the beginning, and i feel like there was smt else but im forgetting it. All in all, i think he’s a fucking idiot (which we know from omega complex that he’s a brat) but personally think he had his reasons. It’s valid but it’s still a level of betrayal that could break a relationship if we consider the timing and how everything was exposed. A main complaint people have is that all of this unfolded like 75% into the story and there was only a little bit of time left for him to beg on his knees for wooyeon back. Forgot to mention as well that he didn’t tell wooyeon he knew who he was bc he was waiting for wooyeon to reach out first. He didn’t know why wooyeon lied about not knowing him and thought like i’ll play along and wait for him bc idk what he’s doing. There’s a lot more context that i didn’t mention so i highly recommend reading the novel. The novel translations are already completed but the extras you have to pay to read them but they’ll all be available to read in 3 months bc the free chapters are released every week. u really need to read the novel yourself. It explains their dynamic and this issue so well plus its barely a problem for one chapter because wooyeon misunderstands thinking even THIS time dohyun was following his mother's orders which he wasn't. He was also valid leaving wooyeon before because he didn't want a minor falling in love with an adult like him. Obviously the way he left was wrong but that actually wasn't a problem. And even the remembering woyeon from before was an issue which was fixed BEFORE they got into a relationship. Dohyun is a very great green flag. you guys just gotta wait for the story. Having read the novel like 3 times I can easily vouch that their relationship is super healthy and dohyun is genuinely the most caring and nice guy ever. He just had some shit going on and like anyone, made a mistake which wasn't harmful or even big. Apologised for it because he didn't have a single bad intention behind it and made up for it, communicated like they're adults which they are and I'm glad to see that happening. So just wait.
