She doesn't know Yvone's true power yet but she seems powerful enough to survive against eclis, so if she survives she'll definitely tell the duke. And if she does get killed by eclis, they'll probably wonder who killed her which eclis might take as an opportunity to admit to the family that he killed eclis on Penelope's orders, successfully isolating Penelope from her family, only having him to rely on.
honestly i think she’s given up on life even though her suicide attempt ultimately didn’t work. all her work was destroyed in a matter of days and it’s not easy to come back from that
