Personally, I don’t have any issues about the sex part, it was consensual and everything. But the thing is that the only way Ash found for Lyle to speak is through bdsm, he could have asked him directly and sincerely, and maybe this could have helped them to go out the insecure point of the relationship.

oh yeah that's totally true! their communication with eo is really not the best even in the main story so i dismissed it and thought "ah lol this is nothing new" but i do hope that they can communicate better (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

As an IRL kinkster, this is abusive BDSM. A dom should not be picking a sub’s safeword. Especially because Ash picks one Lyle is not comfortable using. They effectively don’t have a safe word because it is not one Lyle will use.
Also, in safe sane and consensual play, Lyle should agree to what he’s being ‘punished’ for, know what is going to happen in the scene, and should not worry that Ash will hate him for being aroused by the scene. The dom should never put a sub in a scenario where the sub feels forced to use their safe word (or else do something they really don’t want to do, like Lyle spilling his wish to propose.
And I don’t think that final argument makes sense. This website has a prominent rating, reviewing, and commenting aspect. The idea that you are not allowed to criticize or express negative feelings for a piece of media if you consume it illegally doesn’t make any logical sense to me.

Like. It’s okay to like this shit. But it’s still something that would be abuse if it happened IRL. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to be uncomfortable with that and express their discomfort.
