Sis con things

I get some ppl don't like the sis con stuff but I love it. Here's why: it is rooted in idolization. Sis cons and by extension bro cons, put their siblings on a pedestal due to a variety of reasons. This places the sibling in an unreachable place for the sis con, and can create some funny moments and reveal some of the psyche of the character (especially in series that are not just comedy). There's a reason why the sibling is placed on a pedestal, and in this case it is the after effects of war.

Yor and Yuri are war orphans, forced to care for themselves in a world ravaged by war as children who had no say in the politics that lead to the war. They only had each other and they fought to keep each other safe, especially Yor as the older sibling. She learned to care for the home, to cook (sort of), to care for her brother, and she gave up her own dreams by becoming an assassin. She did it to provide for herself and her brother and its not like someone really grows up wanting to become an assassin, so she had to abandon her own future for her brother. In exchange, Yuri works everyday for his sister to be able to live a life they couldn't live as children. While Yuri doesn't know Yor is an assassin, he does know she did her best to protect and raise him. He gave up his adulthood to work as a secret police officer to ensure his sister would be safe, and some of it was due to nationalism but his primary focus is his sister who tried her best to give him a childhood by giving up hers.

Can it cross into obsession with his sister? Yeah, but the point is that he is ridiculous because of it. Yuri idolizes his sister who he sees as some perfect paragon of goodness in a world full of fakes and violence. But can you expect a child raised in the shadow of war not to idolize the only person he could trust and stand by? He's also jealouse of Loid and Anya because they represent a new world for Yor to live a normal life, and he's not part of it. And it seems he's barely starting to accept that part of wanting his sister to live a normal life is to also let go and live his own life.

Analysis over, lol

Yeah I love you for this, yuri's circumstances complete explain his actions, and his occasional appearances do make me laugh, he's a beloved character to me. I really want the author to introduce a character in yuri's surroundings who ends up interacting with him romantically or platonically. I would love to see how he behaves in situations that have nothing to do with his sister or his job.
