The teacher being a predator feels common place. Hear me out, but in the art industry it's now common to hear of gate keepers who abuse, groom and manipulate potential stars. So him getting no consequence kinda fits the role. It could have turned around and seem like Shun was trying to "buy" his way on to the stage so turning down the offer was a total boss move to avoid tainting the future.
