Unpopular opinion but i LOVED Chapter 69. This is def a huge chapter for Jaekyung and the chapter where he seems like an actual human being.
He's been frustrated this whole chapter bc he's feeling pressure on many sides - Dan, his rank, a sudden match, his guilt (even if he doesn't admit or even realize). You can feel his frustration boiling over when he shot water at Dan for drinking again.
BUT BUT BUT bc of how emotionally vulnerable he is this chapter, the sudden thought that it might be Dan who was drowning just reduced him to panic bc deep down he might actually like Dan and might be concerned for him. The prospect of someone's death really CAN be a wake up call for people to finally do introspection or to realize feelings they didn't think they felt. And the relief after they realize the other person is safe and alive? That can reduce anyone to tears. Or a hug in this case.
Another unpopular opinion, but I'm satisified with the pace we're going with Jaekyung's character development. He was such an asshole and an abuser and just devoid of a moral compass, that any faster than the rate at which we're going, and I'd say it's rushed, unrealistic, and disingenuous.
All in all, might be my fave chapter thus far!!! Also worry looks good on Jaekyung. He was so pretty during that boat scene.
