the one who has been initiating sex here is Dan, bc that’s what he think he wants, which i obviously didn’t like it when JK eventually gave in, but you can clearly see that’s not what JK wanted in the first place. Whether it was for his own “benefit” or not, he’s trying to help and Dan is being self destructive, so he had every right to throw that water on him.
sorry but if you’re only helping someone get better so they can be in good condition to do things that’ll benefit you, nothing becomes genuine from that point. and jk is also a fully grown man, if he truly, TRULY, did not want to then he most definitely could have refused especially knowing full well how bad dan’s condition is regardless if dan initiated it or not. you’re not gonna come back into someone’s life, who left to get away from YOU btw because of how badly you made them feel over something that wasn’t even your fault, who’s giving UNWANTED help, and then get mad at them for not wanting to/getting better so he can go back to being your little plaything, nah.

Since the beginning, Dan hasn’t been able to have a choice of his own, clearly bc whenever he is on his own, there’s always something causing him to fuck up and be troublesome (loan sharks, Grandmother, even JK), my point is that we’re not going to be blaming JK for Dan’s drunk actions since he’s worried about his grandmother and slaving to death to make enough money. Whether he wants help or not, he’s need it if he wants to be there for her and he’s currently being self destructive, and JK is there to take care of him, even since their contract that they had, he’s been taking care of him. I’m not siding with anyone but i’m not gonna victimize someone who is clearly having a hard time yet not doing anything about it.
things are slowly changing, like the author was implying for this whole story, so his pov is gonna change. I definitely admit that it’s for his own benefit, but Dan is not good on his own and he never was. JK was there to take care of him, for his own benefit, whether he liked it (needed it) or not. He just had an awakening that self centered people don’t have, which is caring (worrying) about another person other than themselves, so it might get stronger later on. (づ￣ ³￣)づ
i’m not blaming JK for dan’s drunk actions, he’s a grown man and the only one digging himself deeper into his own depression and addiction. what i AM blaming him for is his continuous physical abuse. all i’m pointing out is the irony of this ch how it went from the pushing in the beginning to the hugging by the end, and that these crumbs shouldn’t make people instantly think that jk has changed and become this saint. that’s actually what i agreed with on your own comment how this is just the beginning of his character development and i agree. what i have an issue with is people immediately forgiving him over just this small action. yes, it’s a big thing for his OWN personal character development, as you said, but not regarding his relationship with dan.
yesss i definitely do think they need each other for their own development as individuals. for dan, it’s a sense of financial security and stability which he never had growing up and for jk it’s the emotional aspect and how he treats human beings. I hope the author shows his upbringing and his relationship with his parents bc I think it plays a big role with the type of person he is.
I can definitely feel the irritation JK has especially from the old man coming to him to leave Dan in his care, which he doesn’t have to but clearly he’s going to apparently. but yes i definitely agree with youuu (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
