I think this chapter just solidified the main difference between Dia and Serena when it comes to Eiser.
Dia loved him but didn’t trust him. She didn’t put in any work in herself to become stronger and a force to be reckoned with. She just expected Eiser to put in all the work and reap the benefits.
Serena loves him and trust him but is also willing to work on herself to get stronger and smarter. To make sure she doesn’t put him nor anybody else she cares about at risk. She wants to protect instead being protected all the time.
Eiser sees that which is why I believe in the end they will be together. Fingers crossed
