I get that, this is mainly for the commenters completely disregarding or forgetting Penelope’s situation, it’s like “if you were her, what would you do?” Type of thing. Everyone would have different answers and none of them would be incorrect really, because thats their own way of surviving. But this is hers, i just wish people didnt feel less sympathetic for her because of her dynamic with Eckles and her way of trying to survive.
Oh absolutely. I just don’t think she’s free of criticism. She helped fucked him up and you can see that in the change of lifestyle he goes through. From being a respected and great knight, to a psycho that’s extremely codependent
Some of you keep saying whats right and wrong regarding Penelope and Eckles dynamic and pushing your own morals on her and her decisions when it is much more complex than that. Penelope is (disregarding the suicide) trying to survive. Its as simple as that, if i was her i’d use any and everyone i could to stay alive. Why draw the line at emotional manipulation? Because you feel bad for him? His situation is pitiful but i’m rooting for Penelope regardless and always.
