If he was so brainwashed he wouldn’t still be trying to get with her. He’s not stupid, he knew what he was getting into which is why he didn’t trust her in the beginning. He chose to find that yvanna girl. Because he was obsessive and jealous. He wanted to give her a reason ro run away. Even then when he was “brainwashed” he resisted more than the other cast. Right now he’s just obsessed with her and he’s doing things he know she wouldn’t want. He just want her to feel guilty. The emperor was the only one to truly resist because even if he doesn’t want to acknowledge it he truly does want her for her and love her.
Look, I HATE what Eclis did (bringing back Yvonne and all that), but can you blame him tho?? The man can’t catch a break. His people died, he became a slave, Penelope basically groomed him to be devoted to her and only her. Penelope out here acting like she didn’t play a part as to why Eclis became like this is wiilldd.
