(IMO) I think the rape in this story is easily brushed off because of the tone it’s set in. A lot of the time we match the way we feel with the mc (even though it’s morally and psychically wrong) the alpha doesn’t show hes traumatize from the rape (AGAIN I’m not saying rape is right even if there’s no sign of trauma I’m talking about the undertone) the author made something that is very disturbing and traumatic and turned it “lighthearted” in that sense it made a lot of readers easily brush it off, tbh for me that’s the main reason it was easy for me to continue and even enjoy this story, yes there’s a bitterness after taste that linger from the first few chapters because rape is rape and always will be. Now for the people who’s hating on the alpha for not knowing the beta feelings are plain stupid for that there’s no explanation they are just plain childish.
Yes this is actually so true, i didn't understand the author for putting a rape issue in the story with the omega from one the recent chapters when the male lead did the same thing to the mc. The rape from the earlier chapters was quickly put under the rug and was never acknowledged in the story once again— but i think another issue is that whenever it's pointed out how the mc was raped by the ml, they counterback with "it was the alpha who forced himself on the beta first" and call the people who are siding with the alpha "a victim blamer" to reverse the hate that was being thrown at the beta stans which i think was plain stupid. That's why i pointed out in my orginal comment how the alpha apologized for his actions and had a better approach in this situation than the beta, because no matter how you look at it, both may still be in the wrong but we need to remember that one is too intoxicated to make a decision and the other is strong enough to carry his hyung to the bed to make a decision. I think the writing for the beta is genuinely horrible but what's more horrible is the people who are siding with him just because he's good looking. Because in the future chapters a character can change but the people who supported him even before he got his redeeming qualities are fucked up.
Like they said in the comments, how do y'all hate on the alpha for being oblivious but can't hate the beta for being a rapist. The fact that there are only limited sane people out here and are getting dislikes for understanding the alpha's side is so much telling, you can go read this manhwa in other sites and go to the comment section to see how people are literally with the alpha because they are not stupid and are people with morals. Both are in the wrong but that doesn't mean the alpha's wrongs are more so than the beta, HE the alpha basically raised the beta half of his life and has seen him as a family his whole life— HE the alpha has known beta's feelings for a long time at a subconcious level but refuses to acknowledge it because HE the alpha does not want to complicate his relationship with the boy he sees as a family WHICH is the beta. I don't even know why does this needed to be pointed out, but people here in this comment section has been brainrotting for reading too much yaoi that they become immune to rape and became a norm to them. Let's not forget that beta was only remorseful for raping the alpha for a short amount of time and quickly brushed it off, even claiming it as them "sleeping together" when the alpha was too intoxicated to even consent. He does not feel remorseful at all for his actions, meanwhile here we have the alpha who as soon as he woke up from his rut the first thing he did was to look for the beta to apologize because he does not want to taint their relationship even though what has happened is already irreversible. The alpha has been approaching this situation better than the beta does whom which all he has been doing was run away, the beta is an immature kid who lets his feelings control him. All of you need to understand the nuances of their situation, instead of reading from your ass and speaking ass pulls, grow up and stop siding with just anyone who are good looking.
