
He didn't commit a crime, betrayal shouldn't result in being arrested. She's the only kind owner that he's had, is she wanted to save him she would've freed him. That kind of inhumanity was the norm in that time I get it, but the mc was a modern women so I atleast excepted some turmoil with her sensibilities.

I think her turmoil is that she sees this all as a game and only cares about her own survival. She has no time to be worrying about ‘morals’ because she sees them all as pawns just for her to reach 100% affection and leave the game world. And Eclis being locked up and arrested is really just because his betrayal was a pretty big deal. Besides, her father is the one who has all the authority to do as he pleases, not her.
I hate when these stories portray slave characters as a villain, he was arrested for bringing a girl to their home basically
