I think people put to much stake in the DID affiliation. It's two parallel worlds, the real world and the world of Silence the book.
The Huimin we've been with is from the real world, and the Ilheon he became friends with is the one from the book after he isekaied after his death in the book, that's why the Ilheon in the book has those pictures and knows the real world Huimin.
As I understand it Ilheon has been trying to rewrite the story of Silence after he saw how amazing his life in the real world with Huimin is. I have my suspicions that Ilheon has known for a while that the Huimin that is currently in the book, is the real world Huimin, and that's why he doesn't want him to leave...
Spoilers ahead!
But like big spoilers - I've read the raws and there were like 10 chapters ahead
So it's like this:
- Silence happened,
- Iheon died, Huimin made a desperate wish before his death "if we were friends instead, would we be happy?"
- the school life world was created with Huimin having no memories of Silence and Iheon being reincarnated at the point shown in the latest chapter
- School life world is a simulation revolving around Huimin and only progresses when it involves Huimin, time literally stops when he ks not in the area.
- School life has fixed plot pints which are the drawings Huimin did while he lived in Silence
- Iheon can not confess, the wold prohibits it
- the School world has a fixed point in time where it will fall apart and 'finish'
- Iheon doesn't want them to finish living as friends so he makes sure Huimin gets to read the book Silence
- Huimin wakes up reborn in Silence in the cage scene with only his memories from School World
- Iheon doesn't have his memories at first, I think he gets them back (the school ones and previous life ones) somewhere around Huimins heat after they spend it together

So basically the school world was created by Huimin and his wish and does actually exist, but does that mean that the Huimin from school life is also the Huimin from Silence or are they still separate beings?
I think I got the gist of it for everything except if Huimin is the same person or not so thank you for clearing up the confusion, I don’t mind for any spoilers or major spoilers, if anything it actually helps me read because I can understand better whats going on lol
Thanks for this! I think the spoilers or rather even tags that explains the themes would've been better for us going into this without having to rely on conjecture... I was confused why people kept saying Huimin had DID (which i now understand they incorrectly termed but alas) rather he lived in two time lines unknowingly.
The school world will exist temporarily, think of it kind of like being in a game? No one besides Huimin and Iheon will remember that world
And from what I understand, Huimin lived though Silence, got reborn into the School world without memories and now woke up in the current Universe with his memories from School world but without his memories from Silence. Because Current Huimin has flashbacks from the Silence, I do believe that he is the same Huimin in all 3 worlds, but has yet to recover the original memories.
Ngl the author was quite creative with the timelines xD
Dude yeah genuinely what makes this one my favorites atm is how crazy and creative the storyline is, like the art, characters, whatever could be ASS and I’d still read it with how crazy this plot has been so far and how interesting everyone’s theories are.
Thank you for clearing things up for me, I know I could wait and figure this all out then but genuinely what made me enjoy this so much was all the theories and going through it KNOWING what’s happening. Cuz like now we can follow Iheon from the first chapter in his POV and now thanks to you I can see his approach to succeed in being Huimin back to Silence without ruining their friendship and how he recognizes school Huimin before he regained his memories. Gosh it just makes me even more excited to see more chapters (≧∀≦) I could go ON forever about all my theories
I think after they reveal how the whole timeline works, you'll have a lot fun re-reading this story from the very beginning
If you enjoy such twists and turns in the plot and like video games, I highly recommend playing 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim (or watch the playthrough on youtube, it has around 40h and can be watched like a movie/podcast)

I’m a little confused
So it’s pretty much confirmed, or at least I thought it was, that the happy world Huimin “came from” was a world he created to escape his miserable life like he had actual DID and just recently found out that the world he came from never existed and he’s been the Huimin from silence the entire time right
But then how the fuck is Iheon in the “happy world” Huimin created. I don’t mind spoilers I’m just confused af cuz this confirms that the happy world actually exists and that Huimin IS from another world. I’d assume it was regression but the book, the cafeteria construction, them not being friends, Huimin not being an artist, etc (all the discrepancies) wouldn’t exist and would follow the timeline from before, making it confirmed Iheon atm is in Huimin’s delusion. Of course I wouldn’t mind the theory of real world Iheon and hallucinated Iheon being one in the same, which was what I originally thought the first time Iheon changed to be more like Huimin’s best friend Iheon, but it feels like the whole DID and hallucinated happy world theory is more confirmed and makes sense. I don’t know I’m just a little lost (and yes I AM reading and analyzing each chapter it’s just hard to do that on this last one if I don’t know what route they’re going so I want some clarification)
