From reddit:

So, I've been following this manga for YEARS, and I will say it has always been very slow to update--multiple translations teams have picked it up and dropped it. It's a well-known joke that this manga is extremely slow to update but always worth it.

Good News: Just recently, a team (specifically formed for YF) picked it up and translated the newest chapters with two weeks in-between. It finally seemed like there was a light at the end of tunnel.

Bad News: Others were taking their scans and re-uploading them for profit and that rightfully pissed them off. They were translating for free and they were VERY consistent and accurate. They made it clear they didn't want anyone re-uploading their work anywhere else. Some re-uploaders did not honor that.

Even More Bad News: they decided to go on hiatus because of this along with the AUTHOR herself.

Super Bad News: The Author of the manga just recently announced on her Twitter that she was going on hiatus until "further notice" It's sometimes hard translate her tweets but from what I gathered, she's upset at the illegal translations and some other issues and has out everything on pause. I also had seen that she had put it on pause because it's becoming an anime and there was focus on that...but it's hard to confirm.

So...it's kind of a wait and see. But as of right now it is on a HARD hiatus. No one is updating English or Japanese. From what I can tell.

UPDATE JAN 2025: I've been seeing there are tensions between the anime studio and the managka that also attributed to the hiatus. Apparently, they're pushing shojo when she didn't want it to go in that direction. Will update this post if I found out anything else :)

UPDATE APRIL 2nd: Yall I took a break from Twitter because of El *n but I am about to hop back on and see what news I can find!!!!

The official English will catch up and be left on a cliffhanger hanger too. I wonder how much she signed over for the anime production because they can do whatever they want without her thoughts in mind and if she refuses to finish, it is what it is. I just wonder if they’re allowed to write their own ending
