So why did he act the way he did in the beginning at the auction if he already knew?

I don't think he knew until he got out of the shower at the hotel. Or was it when he found the mc in the bathtub and thought he was dying/unaliving himself?

but yeah it was weird how he got all angsty even when he got his memories back.
