Although season 2 became pretty volatile and filled with scenes of SA, one thing I really do appreciate in this work is how badass some of the female characters are. You’ve got Jaewon’s villainous ambitious mom sure but more importantly you’ve got Hee-seo’s detective friend from high school, Eunsung.
In a lot of BLs theres either a lack of female characters or they are treated as obstacles/sex objects for one or both of the mc/ml. Eunsung has no romantic interest in either the mc or ml. From a young age she’s focused on survival, working to support herself and making deals to pay for her mom’s hospital bills, and she doesn’t make excuses when she’s caught by Hee-seo. She’s tough, resilient, compassionate, and has integrity. And then she grew up to become a detective who, slight spoiler from chapter 85, isn’t afraid to take on criminals who threaten her life. She’s so cool and I would totally read a spin off story about her.
