you know when this season first started and chapter 60 came out. I thought, mingwa's having the 2 of them meet NOW?!? but having read multiple times, I feel it was necessary to have them meet to really show how different their relationship dynamic is from S1 to S2. especially with dan.
our boy is stressed and depressed and he’s probably gonna fall even further into despair before he even gets back up. just imagine being told your only living relative has maybe 6 months left to live. that’s what dan was told as we find out in ch 56. dan’s been there for over month, so what maybe 5 months or less of granny? and even though it’s been established that dan didn’t cause jk's injury and they told him that. I think more than anything it’s the fact that the person he loves didn’t even trust him enough to say I know it wasn’t you, and now the very same guy won’t leave him alone lol.
I like the parallel of seeing dan dismiss and downplay his condition with jk when last season it was the other way around of jk dismissing his shoulder injury. I like the scene from ch 61, where dan’s like “when has he ever cared about my body.” because S1 dan would often say, I’m suffering, but jk must be suffering more. I bet ch. 66 is the best sleep jk ever had being wrapped up in his lover boy. if dan didn’t jump scare him awake, I think he probably would’ve slept for a while lol. his hair when he woke up too, cute cute. I like, no LOVE, dan constantly reiterating that jk only wants him for his body because he’s a tool for his jinx and jk being surprised pikachu everytime lmao.
other things too. dan’s eyes are so dull in comparison to S1. he effectively doubled the amount of soju bottles in his room from ch 56 to 65. I think jk definitely read dan’s birthday card note over and over again, enough for him to tell dan about it in ch. 62. I think jk had to have also missed dan’s cooking. I think jk thought about it while eating grilled chicken, salad, and a sweet potato every day lmao.. I think it’s hilarious that jk asked dan if he had his wallet after the doctor visit like he didn’t carry him, lock him in the car, and brought him out in his house clothes
the whole sex scene from 68 would’ve played out so differently if it was S1. S1 jk would’ve flipped dan over and went to town. dan saying he’s tired and jk saying ok, just sit up straight. S1 jk would’ve degraded him and then continued. jk wouldn’t have thought twice about the sex afterwards either. but there he was reflecting in the bath. he also didn't need to sit in there with dan or give him a little squeeze either. didn’t jk originally put dan in the bathtub to wake him up? which never happened and dan was out cold. jk got in and just stayed there with him for who knows how long before taking him out. WHIPPED..
yes, the bar is still in hell, and this might not seem like much. but at this point, 68 chapters, or well 69 soon, I really am enjoying seeing the both of them try to navigate all these feelings they’ve never dealt with before. it’s messy and slow, but it's happening.
