This is specifically addressing one of the top comments. It's really sad enough that one of the top comments on a work of fiction is so hateful and shaming people for looking at drawings and reading pretend, but it's extra sad and ridiculous when the person fully tells on themselves that they read, presumably, the entire thing (or most of it). You aren't fooling anyone with that "only reason I read it" line. You fully admit you knew it had incest (and the cover fully shows the shota bait) so if other ppl are fucked up for reading this SO ARE YOU. Why are YOU out here purposely reading incest shota bait hmmmmm???? You knew exactly what this was and read it anyway. Then you felt ashamed for reading so you went off in the comment section.

I need people who may feel ashamed to know that NO ONE who is ACTUALLY triggered by/extremely uncomfortable with incestuous fiction would read an incest story knowing full well there's incest in it cause they were...and I quote "praying that maybe it somehow wasn't completely full of incest".

But what's most disgusting about this person is her using the lgbtq+ community to shame others for the pretend shit they read. Fully implying that if you like this work of fiction that you are fetishizing her and the entire lgbtq+ community. Or implying that anyone in the comments who understands this isn't real or comparable to real life is probably a queer fetishizer. You can't decide a bl is fetishizing queer people just bc you (supposedly) don't like that specific bl. Either all bl is fetishizing real queer people or none of it is bc it's not real. You arent a queer fetshizer for liking drawings. In order to fetishize queer people you have to fetishize REAL QUEER PEOPLE. She (the commenter) is not featured in this manga as far as I know. Neither are any real life queer people.

I can name drop the lgbtq+ community too watch this! I'm a gay boy and I say you can read this and it's not fetishizing anything! Ps. You don't have to mark that you're reading/read something if you don't want, you don't have to comment on everything you've read acting like you have no idea how you got there, and there are settings where you can hide your read/reading/want to read.

i actually mostly agree with you on the hypocrisy of readers and it doesnt just apply to shouta content.
however, fetishizing can definitely manifest in the form of fictional media.
fiction can definitely have real life implications on attitudes and mindsets.
its not bl is all fetishizing or non at all, the lack of critical thinking on this subject never seizes to amaze me.

a more straightforward example would be racism.
would you also think racism is only real when directed at real individuals and that all racist drawings are just drawings? i would assume probably not.

when it comes to erotica, it comes down to intention and mindset- which can be different depending on the person, but regardless, there is a lot of room for porn to be an outlet for fetishization, and that should be acknowledged, so dont act obtuse.

also its very easy to randomly find such stories, not everyone is seeking this out and pretending they dont know how they go here. like all i did was search school life excluding webtoon, filtered by popularity and this shouta ass cover popped up on the first page, so i had to check the comment section out lol

You didn't HAVE to check out the comment section and you just explained in detail exactly how you got here. I'm also assuming you made the choice not to read based on the comments. I'm talking about people who have read some or all of it acting like they had no idea what was gonna be in it. Tags and comments are there for a reason and shota bait is on the cover. Not a mystery no matter how you slice it. Also no matter how a persons mindset changes its isn't the fault of the fiction. I think it really comes down to how people process fiction. Like how really young girls SOMETIMES expect real gay couples to be like bl. No one who fully separates fiction and reality can be so easily swayed by it. So agree to disagree.

Like I first realized I was gay through bl actually. A specific bl. But the fiction did not make me gay I already was gay. Other people read the same work of fiction and came out the other end without them being gay. I think you could blame the fiction if all the people who consumed it came out of it with the same mindset or inspired in the exact same way. Otherwise it was that person's unique life experience that lead to a mindset change or inspiration. BUT, in honor of being thorough, do you have any bl recommendations that you think fetishize gay men or a singular bl that leads most readers to start fetishizing gay men?

Nvm I looked through some of your topics and you come off as really rage baity. Also possibly someone who thinks noncon in smutty fiction is comparable to real rape and should always be shown in a realistic manner. I'm not interested in having a conversation with you. Work on gaining some media literacy. Also if you want to see rape and the way it affects a person done in a realistic way read Ouroboros. Sincerely - a victim of real rape

nothing i hate more than my words being completely misinterpreted, but if you arent open to a conversation, then i wont bother explaining.

and for the record i would never think fiction is ever comparable to the gravity of real life nor do i care if rape isnt always portrayed realistically in fiction
