(Isabella has easily risen the ranks as one of my most favorite characters ever. Her writing goes so insane with how much insight and information they packed in a limited amount of scenes. I especially looove that she was a nurse before she was Iora's abuser. It's telling of what Savarin had taken from her in one act – her person, her husband, her life, down to her capability to care specifically for Iora just because she shared his blood, even though Iora was no different from herself, her Wellmy, or her patients otherwise.)
