Tell you about what kind of education you received in life...

In SK they DO take school seriously, there are tons of kdramas that depict how toxic school life in SK can be

I didn’t mean to follow but final exams are that important in Korea it’s as important as passing the State test or SAT it’s not just regular test it determines their future

I’m guessing you all misunderstood what I meant. I am not talking about studying. I am talking about the school social dynamics in manhwas, such as school hierarchy and this kind of stuff. Also, by “you all” I meant the characters in the manhwa. I don’t know why people got offended as there was NOBODY talking about school exams in the comments, so how you people got to that conclusion is beneath me.

i agree it’s ridiculous but SK has a social hierarchy system. It is deeply rooted in their culture and it is most prevalent in schools and in corporate jobs. Whether it is studying or the hierarchical structures in their school, most students take them both seriously. It’s one of the main themes of eighteen’s bed. Like Kang Jun, he wants to adapt and survive in this hierarchy culture in their classroom or else his safety and his future will be jeopardised

lol blaming people for coming to conclusions even though your statement is vague or can be misunderstood, especially since the most previous chapter they bought up studying so it's safe to assume that's what u were talking about, no one was supposed to know what u were referring to by 'you all' or school

I could also have made a "vague" comment like the OP and meant nothing by it other than what the OP meant, as well. The comment directly after it was rude as hell, though. But all of you are getting on the OP's case. That comment was a DEROGATIVE, CONDESCENDING, ASSUMPTION. It wasn't "jumping to a conclusion". It was disrespectful and unnecessary. Educate yourself, layman.

yeah they clarified after people misunderstood, which is fine, but the problem is they followed that up by acting like everyone else was just being dumb or offensive for interpreting it differently in the first place. If a comment’s vague, people are going to fill in the blanks based on context which in this case, included a chapter that literally brought up studying, its not wild that people thought that’s what was meant. I’m not saying my response was soft and yes it was jumping to a conclusion lmao are u dense ans u call me the layman

lmao okay so let me get this straight its a 'derogative, condescending assumption' but not a jump to a conclusion? that’s literally what jumping to a conclusion is, just with extra seasoning. and calling me 'layman' like we’re in a renaissance debate club? please. If yall want to throw vague comments into the void, dont be shocked when people fill in the blanks based on context. they did clarify after people called it out. cool. But dont act brand new and blame everyone else for 'misunderstanding' when the comment was vague and had that ‘look at these people taking school too seriously’ energy. Like, sorry we didn’t psychic read your manhwa specific take through the fog.

Is that a real problem? Just take the L. We misunderstood. They clarified. Nobody got hurt in the process. Let's move on. Western schools are more chill. So, all this tension can appear "exaggerated" from a Westerner POV. Nothing odd, just cultural shock.

I put emphasized on you saying "the problem is they followed that up by acting like everyone else was just being dumb or offensive". It's not a problem. It's trivial. Mundane.

I love your scholarship reply. Lol. And to @chloebcreations , Ido apologize for calling you a layman. (Although jumping to a conclusion isn't derogative or condescending. But assuming, is. I only meant it as it was just hella rude and not that simple. Sorry )
