Bruh this was the same exact problem I had with Heat & Run where author shoves a second couple down my throat JUST as I got really invested in the first couple. I’m okay with reading about side pairings but please, I came to read about the main couple and stayed for their meaningful story. There’s so much more I wanted to learn about them and watch how they grow as a couple, only for them to get pushed aside the moment their climactic part ended.
The vibes are so different too, from a story about overcoming trauma to CEO alpha x smol uwu pink naive bunny boy. Ahhh author’s writing starts out strong but always left me frustrated to some degree both series’s second couples never manages to capture me as well as the first couples do. It’s just sad when stories shift focus from characters I really like.
