there's multiple types of streamers, streamers that have an extroverted personality regardless of skills do well with the general public, streamers who "only" have godlike skills are still popular in their own niche, they just don't have the same audience
I actually quite like seeing streams where the streamer doesn't talk much. It's just relaxing to have the background noise of the game being played by someone else. And honestly, my favourite streamers have Almond's personality.
If a streamer doesn't seem interesting to you, then it's just not for you to watch.
Can you give examples of streamers you like that just sit there silently? What games are they playing? I'm just trying to figure out if you find gunfire and explosions to be relaxing background sounds LMAO
Also, that kind of streamer doesn't get popular and hyped up like Almond is in this series. If they don't have an engaging personality and you're not even playing attention to their gameplay since you're using it as background noise, they are very very easily replaceable and wouldn't be able to gather a large, dedicated audience who are excited to tune in as soon as they go live.
tell that to sleep streamers who not only don't show their face but just sleep and stream it and hundreds watch it.
I'm enjoying the series, but I feel like Almond would be a kinda boring streamer IRL? He doesn't seem super interesting or charismatic when playing. He's a good player so that can be fun to watch if you're into the game he's playing, but since he switches games all the time, it would be hard to build up a fanbase. Players who like to watch skilled gameplay would leave when he switches to games they don't know/like. For example, I have no idea how to play Valorant, so I can't tell what's a good or bad play, and when I'm watching a streamer who is a good player that doesn't talk much and doesn't explain anything, it is boring for me. I feel like Almond barely seems to show any personality.
