You can't possibly think this has any pretense of portraying real life... I mean, what are the chances of a company were 99% of the staff are men, with full sexual prowess (no old men, no impotence and no ED) and gay?
If you can not see the plethora of other comments, I have been informed that the comic is supposed to be satirical. I have read those kind comments and understand so hopefully people reading this comment know that I have read them so people can stop leaving the same comments. Also, I guess you'd be surprised that manga and comics like that obviously do exist which is why this comic is satire, its a gag referencing those comics existence because its generally a genre that is known to be written by straight women and fetishize gay men.
Unless that person really is just that dumb, no one reads the yaoi genre and think of it as accurate potrayal of real life gay people anyway. Even in the bara genre (where's it usually made by gay men for gay men), a lot of it are also highly unrealistic. Fictional stories let's you play with unrealistic ideas and crazy fantasies . Anyone with a properly functioning brain can differentiate between fiction and reality just fine.
I guess you haven't noticed, but this site is fuuuull of dumb underaged kids. I remember being young and reading my first yaoi and even just reading anything, shoujo, regular teen/young adult books...there are people on this site reading stuff and not knowing what is real, fake, or exaggerated or knowing its fake but learning messages subconsciously. Its not as rare as you think.
I am well aware, which is why I mentioned "unless that person really is just that dumb". Those that are sane would know better than to take fictional stories too overly serious, especially one in the yaoi genre with a blatantly obvious comedy tag. If people took every single work of fiction so seriously, treating it as if it's part of reality/accurate portrayal of reality and choose to be offended by a story that's not even real, then plenty of horror/erotica writers would've been crucified long ago for all those twisted ideas & dark fantasies that are taboo in real life.
lol I like how you made this about something that it wasn't about at all. Like nobody was talking about what you're talking about, you just brought it up. When I read the first couple of pages I couldn't tell it was satirical because I have read manga and manhua that REALLY is just that bad. Like its just bad and super dumb and unrealistic. I commented with that in mind and people let me know it was supposed to make fun of that. I thought the "comedy" was just cringy instead of satire. I know it isn't now thanks to a few comments. So really, I get that you have something on your mind you wanna bring up and talk about, but thats not what was even going on here. I guess I can see how you thought it was though. And I wouldn't put kids under the label of stupid people, they're just kids, they don't know shit yet but think they do. We were all there at one point. Somebody had to teach us all how to use a damn spoon. The only difference is that with the internet minors now have access to content they don't have to maturity and knowledge to understand and distinguish some situations and ideas.
Well as you said, this site is full of dumb underage kids.
Satirical or not, this was simply a fictional comedy to begin with..nothing more than that.
Point is, too many people take fiction a bit too seriously sometimes and they start overreacting or misinterpret things. I think it happens to everyone at some point, including myself. So I think it's good to occasionally remind ourselves and others that fiction is just fiction. Some have even become delusional enough to start harbouring immense hatred for something that's not even real at all. I've read some comments from people saying that this manhwa is giving them a lot of real stress, anger and frustration to the point that they can barely continue reading it anymore....which to me is kind of an overreaction.
I think those people just sound invested in the story. Or maybe the content hits home with a situation they've been in. Whats the point of stories if you can't become invested in the events or characters. Sometimes its hard to finish a story when you're invested and bad things happen, no shame in that. I remember people having to stop reading books about abuse because its just a hard topic. Stories are supposed to make us react so I don't think theres really an overreaction unless people are like sending death threats or something because of it
I really couldn't read this one...who thought it would be a good idea to be like "every man in my office is gay...so naturally they're all engaging in sexual acts at work all day long"...like they aren't normal people that would just work their jobs but instead can't be professional. It just plays into the idea that gay people are sexual deviants and inherently sexual beings.
