People saying it’s cliche when it’s such a common manipulating tactic IRL to twist words into “who said it was [something specific]?” or “I didn’t say that SPECIFICALLY” etc. So I don’t think it’s “cliche” that the author made the seme do that because that happens so commonly to people who know how to manipulate and gaslight. That’s why domestic abuse is still rampant.
