I think that’s poison dude’s perspective, and he’s just invisioning “present J” as “past J” bc he thinks they might be the same person
If you look back to earlier chapters, his hair was brown in pictures and flashbacks as J. I think his hair turned silver in the west sea rift, and he’s been dying it back to brown for whatever reason
the reason his hair becomes white has lore reason (novel ch280+), and because as J he was last seen with white hair he dyes it to a common colour now

do pick up the novel, it's easy to read since the pace is fast and it's packed with a lot of mystery that makes u want to keep reading. also what I rmb might be wrong since I only read it when the translation comes out slowly so some details might be lost on me
basically it's due to mutation, when humans turn into monsters. cej started bleeding white and iirc his hair turned white rly fast. mutation was slow burned in the entire novel and how the author revealed this is lowkey mind blowing and devastating, and idk what happens afterwards I'm marinating the translations bit by bit
In the past he had silver/white hair and dyed it brown/black when he ends up in the future. Then, why does he have brown/black hair in the flashbacks?
