The only thing i think was missing is we seeing The aftermath of their choice, specially after they had just declared himiko as the queen of wa. He has to pass down the powers but he has no powers anymore to do that so.. idk I know they love each other but the coice felt too impulsive and selfish for something they knew would go wrong at some point, we as readers just didn't get to see it. For a love story it's great, for a love story that thinks about the universe it is in, it's not so great
