I just love how everyone is wondering how Mc got a captain position in the first place.
Here is my observation, the management seemed to be bureaucratic
This is an example: if the higher ups assigned me to be the leader of a certain department, people can't have any say whether they think I'm suited or not because it is the higher ups that assigned me in that seat.
My observation is that Sabrina is more fitting as she's actually more active in managing documents and she's very perceptive but she wasn't assigned, there was a hint that Sabrina was either a lower noble's daughter or just an ordinary commoner.
My other observation is that Mc is a noble and was born from a wealthy family, he's the closest to fit in the criteria of being a captain EVEN THOUGH HE WASN'T QUALIFIED ENOUGH TO BE ONE, maybe because he's simply from a powerful noble or that he's a MAN.
Sabrina may have been able to fight her way into becoming the most suited captain but since we have no way of knowing what's like to be in their world, I can only assume that Women working in Military or any service job are still not appreciated enough to be accepted in higher position so they would rather place a unqualified person than a qualified women on position
