Nah the dad was a piece of shit too. Yes he was heavily influenced by poverty and the death of his parents but it doesn’t mean he should’ve been a neglectful father and husband.
Both parents were shitty people who affected their son’s psychological and psychosexual development.
a lot may disagree but imo the father wasnt at fault nor was the son, the mom lied to him (the dad) basically forced him to marry her, manipulated him, abused him, took advantage of him and literally gave him no chance to depend on himself or make a life for himself. he said so himself that he only thought he was a fling to her and that she would toss him away so he was only in for the money but only temporarily, but the mom LIED and pushed him to marriage and forced him to take care of a baby he didnt even want and didnt even let him work in order to depend on himself if he wanted to, she owned him as if he were a toy and the son fell right in the middle between the mothers craziness and the father's helplessness and that is what made him who he is. in the end lets all agree it was the mom who did this
