It's debatable. The author is clearly intending to portray the ML as being a good person trying to help out an insecure man with communication and boundary issues, and unfortunately accidentally portrays abusive behaviors. The most obvious one is at the end of the main story. [spoilers, obv.]
At the end, Lyle spends Ash's rut with Ash. He fucks Lyle unconscious multiple times, ignores Lyle begging to stop/saying no or that he's in pain repeatedly, says degrading things that make Lyle uncomfortable, and then knots him while Lyle yells in protest. When he wakes up post-Ash's rut, he's concerned that Ash's rut is not over and that Ash will force him to go again.
Normally in rut scenes, alphas are like... out of control, right? But Ash expresses that he knew, remembers, and meant everything he said during sex. Additionally, when asked, he says he has no regrets knotting Lyle/that he intended to do it.
Which leads to the implication that he was pretty well in control of his actions and mental faculties during his rut. This coupled with the fact that Lyle is verbally protests multiple times... leads to a bad implication.
It's then followed up by Ash giving him something very valuable and immediately switches from "wow that was horrible" to "omg this means so much" which... y'know, is a very common IRL abuse tactic. I'm sorry for hurting you, here I'll make up for it.
Is this one toxic or?? Cause I'm really sick of toxic shitty manhwa
