I think that since this is fantasy we expect the dad to be perfect and all that right. But then again I think in reality he was still grieving and sometimes people dont make the best decisions because of their loss. And that really doesn’t justify why he was treating his daughter like that, but he was basically self blaming for not being able to do anything for his wife. I personally don’t hate the emperor thought I dont think his decision was wise, another way to think about it was also the fact that during the timeline that the story is in, humanrights were really taught….so he could of have been worse and had alr sold his daughter off to someone. Then again also miscommunication is a big key going on right now
