Can’t wait for the raws to get translated… I love this trope sm. He loves her past the point of return; where he’d literally rather have the world burn to ashes as long she stayed alive and by his side… even when she breaks apart every piece of him and ruthlessly rips him to shreds.
Meanwhile her love for him was self destructive, and although not outwardly obvious, her every action had been calculated for his sake… to protect him from Rowan, to protect him from harm and death because he had no status back then, and to build him power. She wanted him to rise to glory and prestige, built on the hatred and bitterness she instilled in him… To hate her so much he’d kill her and become a hero.
Reading the part where the citizens began to cheer his name with praise upon her ‘death’ was *chefs kiss* because all the while, he was holding her cold body in tears, and finally found out that she had loved him all along!
It reminds me of the manhwa “this witch of mine” where ML is forced to kill the FMC… but this one was satisfying because he’s so desperately trying to keep her alive
