When r*pe is in the plot line from the beginning, depicting morally corrupt characters or power imbalances, for example, it can lend to the overall story (however deplorable it may be). Throwing it in here, however, when it’s so out of character just seems so… crude, foul, and wildly unnecessary. Disappointing writing, and quite frankly, an irredeemable action from the ml.
