I mean there is some amazing shonen ai where you are more likely to get more interesting stories like that than with yaoi. Problem with shonen ai is just they tend to be relegated to one shot manga or be over 100 chapters long and dragging with no end in sight lol
But absolutely true still, I would love to have more BL where we would get more character, chemistry and story building (and hell even world building) where the smut still exists but either was more infrequent (thus making it more impactful when it does happen) or even just a side story thing
I wish bls would be more about story building , tension and chemistry between two characters dealing with their own things then alone about fucking like rabbits every chapter with repeated storyline. If they can't use your own imagination borrow ao3 and wattpad at least. I'm sick and tired of yaoi brainrot at this point . There are only few good stories and others are basically same with different art style
