I kinda hated that he lost bc it felt underwhelming. Plus I loved that he was an independent and powerful sub
That was BS plot armor also. Because MC is stronger than all the folks here. And this rando just came and defeat the Big D.O.G here. Author is really forcing the plot.
No yeah I can tell it’s gonna be some soulmate storyline and that only his commands worked on the sub but then there’s no reason to waste such a strong mc
