In my opinion the problem here is not even the character development that is slow to arrive (because that's just logical), but the story in general and the writing of the characters. I mean, in general if the story is meant to be romantic, the characters must necessarily have qualities that readers can appreciate them for, otherwise how am I supposed to enjoy the romance when the time comes? I read several romance stories with the "character development" trope. Usually they're about cold and stoic characters that slowly melt, but they are still good/likeable characters who always showed that they care about their love interest.... But what can you say about Jaekyung? He's done nothing but mistreat and insult Dan since chapter 1, how can you want or hope for a development from him? In real life he would be the typical narcissistic jerk who psychologically (and possibly physically) abuses you, and these people don't ever change. Like if it were a friend of yours in Dan's place, would you hope for a change or would you tell them to run as far away as possible from someone like him? Of course a development will happen here because this is just fiction, but it would be totally unrealistic, and honestly who would want it at this point? Of course the author can do whatever they want, it's their story, and mine is just an opinion, but it would've made much more sense if it had been a psychological thriller instead of a romance...

I agree. I love to read dark romance and generally the characters, even if there're a dark flag, generally have a multifaceted personality that makes you curious about their development. With Jaekyung I don't see nothing, untill now he's been behaving in such a consistent way with no hints of other stuff going on...basically a one dimensional character
