The Mc was born a Mate to every dragon. They fight for their mates and when they meet them they feel emotions. They then begin a claiming process and marking territory. This chapter was trying to explain that... it's a bit clearer in novel.

Thank you, yeah this chapter did a terrible job of explaining anything. I previously read the raws of the novel, but machine translation was terrible.
But if MC isn’t ML's mate then his real mate exists and that has to be the most unlucky person ever. MC and ML already have a real connection and they will for sure become real lovers. Imagine being fated to be the third wheel, that’s another kind of unlucky.
