The problem is not the BDSM , it's just that Lyle don't feel safe to just enjoy it . He's doing it because he seems afraid ash will not like him anymore AND because he don't want to propose like that!
I'm part of the bdsm community and that is not how it works. No explanation, no real consent, moreover bdsm don't mix with personal emotion that is not related to arousal and sex. No one will start using bdsm as a way to have a conversation on such an important matter
Some chapter back Ash make Lyle promise that he won't hide anything from ash so that there's no misunderstanding. And after just 2 chapters he has done the exact same thing. And what do u mean there's no consent, just read the previous chapter Ash clearly told Lyle what he was going to do. And Lyle didn't say he doesn't want it. So, how is that without any consent? And in this chapter too, Lyle was enjoying it clearly.
What I understood from today's chapter is Lyle is doing it not because he is afraid Ash might start to hate him. He is afraid Ash might hate him as he is enjoying it.
People complaining have never read BDSM stories I guess
