Some people following this story even before the side stories came out have sub-zero media literacy. I get that this being an omegaverse with the central conflict mainly being communication issues, yet not having some of the pitfalls of what the genre usually brings, has had some people coming in with a certain mindset.

But I even reread the whole thing and I have to say, Ash has been nothing but upfront, honest and completely transparent with Lyle from the jump. Even during his rut and in the side stories, Ash clearly outlined what's going to happen and even forms an out (ie, a safe word and, even during the rut in which he said he wouldn't be able to stop himself, checked in with Lyle and asked if he seriously wanted to stop and even gave him a moment to rest when he got overwhelmed/embarrassed). If anything, it's always been consistently Lyle that causes the issue stemming from the lack of communication, which isn't bad but Ash is rather patient and understanding which gives Lyle the opportunity to overcome his communication issues.

The side story is just a little fun since, honestly, Ash probably thinks it's not a huge issue since Lyle isn't reacting badly (like with the whole ex thing that happened not even a couple ep ago) but rather just slightly distant and shy, so he's using the opportunity to have a little fun while figuring out what he could be hiding. Just a little role play, all consensual. Tired of some of yall treating Lyle like he's a child, he's a grown ass man going into this of his own will.
