So no I don't understand why she was treated by him that way, and your comment looks like justification of his actions, so sorry if I misinterpreted it, but my moral compass points straight north, and I don't belive his actions towards her can be justified.
No matter how much author tries to present ml as a trauma driven broken character, there is no way in hell I would understand why he treated her the way he did, she should run away as far as she could rn and never look back.
