From what I remember, the royal couple wants to keep Mikhail's family in check, since they're an archduke family. The temple was sucking up to the king, so they spread rumors that Mikhail is cursed. It was just the Temple/Head priest of the kingdom acting on their own for their greed and doesn't represent the sentiment of actual Holy empire.
i forgot. what exactly do the holy people have against the blonde kid ? like i remember them being physically hostile towards him but what was the reason ?
