It didnt but in the prologue he got up from under the ruble of a fallen building, also doc at some point mentions he is very cold. Between that and all the references to the greek underworld like the title, the rock looming over the town and the smell of figs I have been reading it like that.

I noticed that too! I accidentally fell on the lore of Sisyphus and it means someone who’s escaped death. It also made me curious as it seems that unconsciously mc is wary of Guwon for some reason to the point of trying to kill him. The memory thing too is suspicious because why does there seem to be missing blanks for people?and why are people so afraid of Guwon?
Did he actually forget? Is he simply dead like a super variant of those other zombies but still basically human? Or did "something" take residence in that body after he died?
