I might go on a bit of a rant but it’s so basic and truly nothing special or unique. The only thing that’s interesting and set it apart from majority of romance shoujo is the fact that she’s deaf and that’s pretty much it. The plot is simple and lacks depth and the characters are extremely boring. I’m always wondering what the characters do in their free time because it feels like none of them have actual hobbies or interests, except for the ml who is bland and his whole personality is just being a nice guy and his fucking travels. The characters are one dimensional, especially the fl like surely there’s more to a deaf character other than the fact that they’re deaf. Even the ml only found her interesting and wanted to be friends with her because she was deaf. In the beginning, he also rubbed me off the wrong way. It’s like he wanted to study her like she was some specimen and to further his own language learning. Now the romance, they lack so much chemistry and nothing memorable happens in their relationship. They just hang out sometimes and that’s it. It’s your typical cliché shoujo with a shy fl who blushes 99% of the time and cool ml the only difference is she’s deaf. It’s extremely mid. I think the reason why I hate it is because of how popular it is, and I had such high expectations and then was very disappointed and felt like it was the most boring shit I’ve ever read.

oh now that's valid, I enjoy bland romance since it's a great breathe of air after heavy plot stories but I can understand why you won't like it, specifically knowing the stuff you read
