Director yeon is not jintae's brother, whether he is jintae's son or jintae himself. The flashback of where yishin got jintae's bitch killed because he poisoned yishin and rohee, was real. Jintae was angry, but then rohee said he'll reset their memory so they could live without hating each other and rohee sacrifices himself for it. Turns out, it was all (probably) rohee's plan to get them all three got back together, because they are 'immortal' so they cant get other person get into the cycle and knows their 'secret'.
Jintae thought he hated yishin for killing his bitch. But no, he was just wondering how yishin would willing to do anything despite how jintae treated him, everytime jintae did him bad, getting married and get a kid, killed him and realive him and so on even to always reset yishin's memory, yishin will always willingly to love him again and again. So jintae thought that yishin is like a FIREBIRD, that always rises from the ashes that burned him down and readily to love him. So he decided to make yishin his HOLY being, and built the cult to worship yishin. Including eating him alive because he had to convince the cult devotee that yishin is a sacred body that won't die even if they cut him off endlessly.
And now, back to the present. Yeon hyeop, the guy who is always following yishin around, is thought to be either a devotee that obsessed over yishin, or rohee or even jintae himself. The rest? Wait till next chapters.
