So to address the comments horrified that the MC is going to betray the ML. I read the novel, so let me tell you what happens.
MC scams the older brother by telling him false information. He overtime collects the money. After a time skip, MC had already told ML about the scam, so ML is made completely aware.
So no, he does not betray ML. ML is made aware of this deal. To be fair, even though it was a scam, i also thought MC would be quiet about it and it would later cause drama. But nope, no drama, just a happy blissful couple happy scamming an evil family member
