Let’s not forget that Laura was sent away because of the stepmother. The dream doesn’t make sense from a narrative perspective either.
I know a woman who accepted her husband's kid that was the result of him cheating on her. She includes him in family photos and such because it's not his fault and he is her kids half brother. It's really amazing actually... I don't think the other women is included in that though She's much bigger then me cause I would've kicked my husband out for that. ( I wouldn't blame the kid though)
That’s what I am saying! I would have kicked the husband out. He would be dead to me. I won’t hate the kid, but I don’t think I can love the kid like my own either. The mistress as well. I would have at least slapped her.
Why would you slap her? In Laura's case we all know she's from the slums and she didn't have much say in that maybe she was forced. In any case, I would say the husband is the only one to blame!
Yes that's why he would be dead to me. As for Laura, Ik she didn't have much power over it, but remember, in the backstory, she was being treated like a second wife almost by the servants cuz what if she gave birth to a son? Like in the earlier chapters, and then when she met later, she asked the husband why he didn't stand up for her. I would say all these gave me an ick. If I think about the wife’s point of view, he did give her enough power over him and she did use some of it if not all, and yes I would say the husband is to blame but for me I would resent Laura a bit too. I hope this makes sense lol I am not saying I don’t get what you mean but I think the husband is 100% at fault for cheating and Laura for well what I said before, and it didn't seem like she didn't know what she was doing was wrong
I know the stepmother was wrong to put Lia through all that, but Lia, my dear, no way in hell would any one woman welcome their husband’s mistress and their daughter and live happily ever after. It is such a stupid dream and a useless chapter
