tbf a lot of shoujo has typical shoujo logic that even a woman can also roll their eyes from it. you just have to find the good ones. i also read shounen that i find really good. i think reading broader categories can open your mind (=・ω・=) so yes your friends should read some good shoujo
Nah more fellas gotta read shojo/josei stuff I think it rounds us out. These lady isekais been my guilty pleasure lately.
I used to only stick to whatever shonen jump would be releasing and then a girl I was crushing on got me into Ouran and now I got a better understanding with what I like when I read anything nowadays.
I will say it also gets you better at picking out if an author has ever talked to another women for more than 5 minutes.
