Omfg thank you!! It’s like you’re the only sane person here. It’s insane how much victim blaming is going on. Yeah he’s a fictional character but he has a backstory for a reason goddammit.
Agree. "Many just assume that victims should be able to muster the courage to leave their abusive relationships. Also, victims are constantly being degraded, threatened and humiliated by their abusers. Often, abusers stalk or heavily monitor their partners."

Abusive relationships are not easy to leave, if it were, they would never be a thing. He has been abused for so long its hard to distinguish between what he wants and needs, when his wants and needs were never cared for.
