I just read the entire novel plus riftans pov and it honestly does get bette! But the ending is definitely a little cut off with regard to wrapping up lose ends, that is things don’t get finished, but the main point gets across. I think I saw some rumor that the author got pissed about something end ended the novel early. Essentially, including this war arc, there are two other war arcs (and other non war arcs) and by the last arc riftan admits he is proud of maxi and her contributions, which is kinda more important than them having a kid in the main story. I’m still holding out for more side stories
Yeah. It just kinda frustrating. I honestly hoped they will settle for a while and have a peaceful life together and have a growing family but i guess the author ended it quickly because of some illegal uploads and she got pissed. I fast read the arc where the dragon was ressurected and Maxi had her gargoyle giants

Riftan only wanted Maxi to be safe but this girl never listens and it's getting frustrating. She got a miscarriage then taken back to his father's castle. Her father beats her and humiliated her and Riftan witnessed it and he attacked the duke and almost killed him. That incident caused a war between the duke and Riftan. After that Maxi went away to study magic and left Riftan for 3 years. This book ended without Maxi getting pregnant again!
