I'm a big hater when it comes to endings, I have particular tastes and absolutely hate it when the ending is rushed or there are plot holes. In this case though I didn't mind, it was just enough. WE COULD see the king get skinned alive but imagine what the rebels will do to him once they catch him. No revolution in history ended peacefully for the royals. Also their goal was destroying the contract, not killing the king. And although we're not sure if Lydian knows Alec is a prince, they are living together peacefully and that's all that matters. Who knows what happens in the future? A whole new world we will never know. So I don't mind, I'm definitely not twitching and rocking back and forth in a fetal position in the dark corner of my room. I'm fine. It was enough. I don't need 235 more chapters. It's fine.
The way I just starting crying after reading your comment because I literally JUST finished reading Perle and was trying to convince myself that since I knew the ending from the start, it wouldn't affect me. It is indeed, not fine.
